AB TAK CHAPPAN

Well this is the story of a B.Tech guy who got placed in CSC which took 56 students in such a drastic conditions where many companies are trying to fire their employee. Although placement for 2005 batch started from sixth semester TCS gone 212 selected rest was unplaced, although it was the 1st company so enthusiasm and expectation was bit more but that student didn’t get selected(there are so many guys but I m just telling a story about only one guy so no offense at all). Although everyone was sure even more than that guy that he will be selected in TCS for sure but GOD wanted something else then so many companies visited and due to “CUSAT PRASAD” he was not eligible in any more companies. But he never get disappointed and didn’t leave preparing in his best effort. But thanks to almighty GOD that the guy was having so much patience and didn’t show much although he was a normal human being so tension must come in his face isn’t it.

Not only he, his batch mates, seniors, juniors all were worried about him just because he has everything to get placed but due to bad luck he is still in the unplaced category. He registered in naukri.com and was waiting for the company at least to visit in shreds but luck is luck. Although he was dreaming about future that ok if he will not be selected than will go to Bangalore, will join any call centre and then will try to find out job there hahhahahahhahahaha.

Then he heard that CSC is going to visit our campus as told by our seniors and company’s name (Computer Sciences Corporation) suggests that Computer Science students will get selected in huge amount J. Then just 2 days back I mean on 17th night he came to know that he is eligible in that company. Now again with same potential he and his few branch mates Ravi, Sanrit, Shikhar started to prepare. Read everything related to D.S, SQL queries, project related stuffs, C, DBMS, bit O.S., and Computer Networks(although its in present semester so didn’t studied whole syllabus yet). At 20th morning there was written consisting aptitude test and written test.

Thanks to Happy, Ranjan and other guys to help him to clear out the aptitude because he was bit weak in aptitude at least in comparison to Happy J. In technical he was alone to write the test I mean no one was sitting nearby him to help him but as he was bit good in technical so he was confidence enough that he will clear out the technical paper easily but as he and that three guys prepared for technical it was bit different because there was no questions on C/C++, Java questions was there L, very less question on D.S., what he left in O.S. question was from that section and the interesting thing is that nearly 30 questions were repeated which was published on fresher’s world.com And many of the guys has solutions with them so they just ticked without knowing and thinking for a minute so it could be the trouble for students like him who didn’t do that. Anyways written test was over he went home with that same three guy and they four were bit worried that might be we will not be selected because many guys had that solutions and the cut-off will go high due to that things. But at the grace of God we all four were selected for interview. He was happy that at least got chance to face interview. In technical round he was questioned mainly on C and DBMS, so he was happy that first time whatever the interviewer asked he has all the answers(not all but what he asked at least for those questions). Then he was called for HR round which was of only 3-4 minutes. At 2 a.m. on 21st September the result was announced and he got selected finally.CSC took 56 candidates which is just a record in 2008 from CSC side. Although he was very happy and even his batch mates, few juniors, seniors were more happy than him. He still didn’t show so much happiness because still the two persons with whom he prepared for the test was not selected. It was just a B’day gift for him (04rd September was his B’day). Now he and his parents are happy that their son is also now placed. That guy was none other than me (Sanjeev Kumar Jaiswal aka jassi)

Thanks to all of my friends for supporting me, helping me, informing me every time about these things .

6th august 2008, 3p.m-4p.m.

Although i always try to write something but don't get time to write or sometimes don't get enough material to share but i thought this time must be shared with all.
So, this was the period of P.P sir(teaches us ANN), he entered into the room with pieces of paper.
Although we knew that we have to write the positive things about our batchmates, but when he was distributing the paper me and Nikesh shouted on others "abe peeche palto usi me likhna hai ".
Pramod sir heard that and tried to comment something in hindi(i guess), but due to lack of Hindi words he just smiled for a minute and after that told the rule that how to pass the paper(in ring counter manner).
Everyone wrote their names at the top of the paper and passed it to adjacent one.
Now everyone was busy in writing stuffs about us. This was really 1 hr full 2 masti. Everyone was laughing while commenting on others, even sir was also laughing just by seeing the expressions of everyone towards each other's comments. Everyone was thinking to write so many things about others but space was less and can't write more because only +ve things we had to mention hahhahahhaahaha :p else a piece of paper can't hold our words.

Hows Kerala for you

Well i m basically from khagaria (Bihar) but brought up and did schooling from dhanbad (Jharkhand). Before coming here i was fascinated by the this name cochin as at first i heard this name while playing trade(vyapari).
I never thought that i wil be doing B.tech from here but "wakt se pahle aur kismat se jyada kabhi kisi ko kuch mila hai kya". So ,finally i landed here in september 2005 with bad and baggage.

When i entered kerala, i told to my frdz wow what a scenary it has yaar, nice vegetation and all. But never liked the smell of coconut oil or jasmine oil that they put on their head :(
It is well known to everyone that keralites are 100%literate but in my opinion they are just literate only literally not by sense or by course. They only know to write their name and most of the times don't wish to use their brain. I met few malayalee frdz few are fine but most ppl are careless about carreers(might be because of their parents are economically sound).
Don't ask about the degrees and teaching experience of faculties specially in our branch they just sweared to spoil our life (not everyone but yeah most of them).
i was very happy that i got Computer Science will do so many things in this field although me and my frd circle trying to do but every newbies need guidance which is nill in our case.
I was diligent bu nature but the situation made me sloth.
technically this state is far ahead with respect to other state but then denizens of kerala don't want to develop or to contribute in the success and growth of It field or whatever be the field.
I felt that honesty and sytematic work, exists here. I have not seen any complaint of theft and all here.
Although they are developed in some cases but people of kerala are still conservative in thinking in majority. In bus still sits are reserved for females but there is no other special queue for females in railway reservation counter(contradicts).
Internal politics is there in college campus which is not good in anyways for the development of any educational system.
Indian government wish to make it IIEST but people from kerala don't want.
Here people don't try to trust on non-keralites generally might be becuase of the bad image that they have from politics or from paper but please frdz who are from kerala and reading this never generalize the things. If you have trust in us then i m atleast syre that you will never be cheated and you can atleast say that yeah this person is with me in any circumstances. the thing is that we should rely upon each other instead of just being formal and all.
There are so many reasons saying kerala a good state but some demerits are also there.
Many things to say but simply we can't.
i wish to know the opinion of people who are from kerala and who are not from kerala that what i stated is right or not. pardon me if it hurts anyone's notion.

My first experience with siemens paper

Well i am a computer science student and as i m presently facing the placement season, So i thought of keeping my views in front of all. Correct me wherever i go wrong. As this is the first time that i appeared for a test at siemens information limited(SISL) under shreds,Kerala.
The scheduled time was 8 a.m. on 10th Feb. '08. It started at 8:30 a.m. I was in the first batch i.a A(totally there was 4 batches). The criteria was 64.5% throughout the B.tech only or questions on C/C++.
A total of 3000 students appeared for it.
The first round was Quantitative aptitude test consisting of 60 questions under 45 minutes. cut-off was rather high, i guess i managed to survive although i didn't practice this section before, so my luck served me this time.
Hardly 600 students were selected for the next round, and the second round was on either C or C++. i choose C, consisting of 15 questions withing 15 minutes. Questions were bit experimental so can be considered as tough, thats y cut-off was near about 4 or 5. After this only 300 students got selected for the next round which was now the siemens own paper.
As i was selected for this round also was expecting to have questions from O.S. ,networking,UNIX but unfortunately the questions were based only on C,C++ and quantitative aptitude. 19 questions from C++,6 questions from C and 25 questions from aptitude(was easy). As C++ is not a part of our syllabus so had to leave all the questions pertaining to the same, although tried to attempt few questions by asking Lawlesh my batch mate ,who was sitting just behind me but could not succeed in surviving for the interview round.
i thought i would be selected but the criteria was something different as per the observation, they selected the persons(63) for interview round who did not have the minimum cut-off and high percentage of marks so i had only 68% might be the reason for my elimination.
Among them 3 candidates from my college got selected in siemens, after 2 round of interview. one was Nilesh from IT and 2 from E.C (Rachna and aishwarya i guess).
so, knowledge, luck and confidence were there which brought me till the entry level, as i had luck but no knowledge (C++). confidence, but had no opportunity to show :) Above all the experience i gained was worth all the trouble... :-)
