Hows Kerala for you

Well i m basically from khagaria (Bihar) but brought up and did schooling from dhanbad (Jharkhand). Before coming here i was fascinated by the this name cochin as at first i heard this name while playing trade(vyapari).
I never thought that i wil be doing B.tech from here but "wakt se pahle aur kismat se jyada kabhi kisi ko kuch mila hai kya". So ,finally i landed here in september 2005 with bad and baggage.

When i entered kerala, i told to my frdz wow what a scenary it has yaar, nice vegetation and all. But never liked the smell of coconut oil or jasmine oil that they put on their head :(
It is well known to everyone that keralites are 100%literate but in my opinion they are just literate only literally not by sense or by course. They only know to write their name and most of the times don't wish to use their brain. I met few malayalee frdz few are fine but most ppl are careless about carreers(might be because of their parents are economically sound).
Don't ask about the degrees and teaching experience of faculties specially in our branch they just sweared to spoil our life (not everyone but yeah most of them).
i was very happy that i got Computer Science will do so many things in this field although me and my frd circle trying to do but every newbies need guidance which is nill in our case.
I was diligent bu nature but the situation made me sloth.
technically this state is far ahead with respect to other state but then denizens of kerala don't want to develop or to contribute in the success and growth of It field or whatever be the field.
I felt that honesty and sytematic work, exists here. I have not seen any complaint of theft and all here.
Although they are developed in some cases but people of kerala are still conservative in thinking in majority. In bus still sits are reserved for females but there is no other special queue for females in railway reservation counter(contradicts).
Internal politics is there in college campus which is not good in anyways for the development of any educational system.
Indian government wish to make it IIEST but people from kerala don't want.
Here people don't try to trust on non-keralites generally might be becuase of the bad image that they have from politics or from paper but please frdz who are from kerala and reading this never generalize the things. If you have trust in us then i m atleast syre that you will never be cheated and you can atleast say that yeah this person is with me in any circumstances. the thing is that we should rely upon each other instead of just being formal and all.
There are so many reasons saying kerala a good state but some demerits are also there.
Many things to say but simply we can't.
i wish to know the opinion of people who are from kerala and who are not from kerala that what i stated is right or not. pardon me if it hurts anyone's notion.

Nice to know a non-keralite's perspective about kerala. It may be called the god's own country, but we do face a lot of socio-economic issues one of the major issues being trying to politicize everything.

hey dear,
the reasons u mentioned are quite obvious for any person who after spending twenty years at one place moves to some other place. we are so much accustomed to that place that any change, may it be for a good cause seems vague to us.
Regarding the education we are in a much better standard as compared to the guys of deemed university and u can't blame everything on the teachers. The facilities which we are provided should be exploited to the full extent instead of lamenting for what we don't have.
Moreover its our fortune that we got the opportunity to spend 4 precious years here and saw the diversity in Indian culture.

..it is not about fortune..it is about reality...more importantly ,the ground reality.society here may look very fascinating and fabulous from outside but inside lies the virus of lingual, conservativeness and few more..when i came here believed that admiration is hardly one sided..we really adore the university and its elements but vice versa it is not true..that really hearts...there is a famous saying.."in life both optimist and pessimist are good bcoz optimist made an aeroplane while pessimist the parachute, both r great innovations"..

MIT is a good place to learn
NEW YORK city is a good place to live
but if time goes back and asks me where to go? ill be in the same campus as the same man.
i never dream for a all good place.Intelligence, way of thinking and character is not same every where. Don't try to judge others putting yourself to their place and thinking what i would have done(probably better thing).Remember that if you put yourself in the other persons role from the starting..then you also would commit the same thing.

nice statement Sabith. Its really nice to have words from you.
I know and i really don't compare in most of the cases, but i wrote only that what i was thinking before coming here and what i observed!!!. Don't forget from this college only i will get B.tech degree and got friends like you,Ullas, Nitish, Sanju, Sandeep, Ryan and many more.
This 4 years will be always in my memory dude.
I have only one thing to say that bit partiality done by faculties to us is making helpless and hopeless but just because of you all we can still smile.
Thanks for being well-observer and my friend
